Welcome

Welcome!

The Delamere Neighbourhood Group (DNG) is a residents association created on 16 October 2006.
We represent households from Delamare Road and a number of streets branching off it: Stanhope Street, Gordon Avenue, Dalny Street and Elmsworth Avenue in Levenshulme, Manchester.

Delamere Road

We think that Levenshulme, despite some of the problems it faces, is a great community to live in.
We believe that by getting together we can address some of the challenges that we face locally, get to
know each other better, and contribute to making the Delamere Road area a better place to live in.

Hi, I have just been informed that the DNG is having a local historian,Chris Makepeace, give a talk on Levenshulme history. I have been running a Levenshulme history website for nearly 7 years and I have never heard any mention of Chris! Does he have an email address? The link to my site is:- www.levyboy.com

I am always on the look out for photos and information on Levenshulme history. I live in Alberta, Canada.

Best wishes, George Nixon

Anonymous Asbestos on Gordon Avenue 1 Nov 4 2009, 5:35 AM EST by Anonymous

There is a pile of Asbestos building material on the side of the Gordon Avenue, this looks like it's either overflow form a skip or has just been dumped there. From the looks of it it's from a garage or shed roof. This material is highly dangerous and I for one am furious that the idiot who dumped it did not pay to have it removed properly by a specialist as is required. I am also angry that it has been left in a public area and is putting peoples lives at risk. I walked past with my children yesterday and feel absolutely livid about this.

Do people in general feel that sufficient consultation has been reached with the Elbow St. development. To my mind it has been somewhat bulldozered.what does anyone else think?
